Marquam Mosaic

Marquam Mosaic is a public art project sponsored by Friends of Marquam Nature Park to enhance the park and educate the community about native flora and fauna. Over 50 free art and poetry workshops were held in Portland, Oregon with Lynn Takata and poet Edna Kovacs involving over 400 people from 2 to 93. The 130' long mosaic is on the amphitheater at the park shelter, where trailheads begin for the 40-Mile Loop. To read an Oregon Public Broadcasting article about the mosaic, click here. Photographs from the Oregonian can be viewed here.

Tranquility reminds us that we are a small part of nature, in a place where listening and looking inspire us.
